Last weekend, I spontaneously visited Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Good weather, friendly people and a shopping street where you can actually find ‘everything’. Even though Eindhoven has no historic/old town area, it’s definitely worth a visit for its beautiful area where everything is within walking distance of each other. However, I’m not going to talk about how nice it’s in Eindhoven. At least, not in this article. I’m going to talk about the Hampshire Hotel – Crown Eindhoven. A hotel that charmed me with its friendly staff, beautiful rooms and nice breakfast. The hotel has even more to offer. But first, the details.
The hotel is situated in the heart of Eindhoven, close to major stores, restaurants and the train station. So everything is very accessible. Yet it’s also located in a quiet street, just 500 meters from the busy shopping street, so there isn’t much of a noise. A step outside the hotel and the visitor is immediately surrounded by Eindhovens charming atmosphere.
I was frightened when I saw the room was on the street side. But to be honest, I didn’t suffer that night because of cars whizzing by. What happens quite a lot in other hotels. This means that the rooms were well soundproofed, or that evening, not a cat was wandering through the streets of Eindhoven. What I doubt. So I’m going to stick with the soundproof rooms. The bed in which I slept, slept wonderfully. But had different creases in the sheet. What put me out to a four for sleeping comfort.
Hygiene is for me, personally, the key to a perfect hotel room. Therefore, I was pleased to learn that the room was nicely cleaned by the cleaning crew.
Although I had booked a superior room, it seemed small at first glance. Not that it was too small, on the contrary. I’ve just seen larger superior rooms. However, I found it a great room with the main facilities in it (desk, closets, chairs, a large double bed, etc.). There is also enough space to walk around freely in the room.
Last weekend, I enjoyed the delicious “Brabants”, hearty breakfast that was available at the Hampshire Hotel. There were pastries, cereals, various fruits, etc. There was bread, homemade jams, toppings and finally there were also eggs and bacon. In short, too many to enumerate here in this article. A buffet breakfast is always really nice to experience: visitors can go get breakfast at that specific time as often as he or she wants. Because there was so much, I did my best to eat two full plates. If I was still hungry, I would have get some other plates.
The kitchen staff was very friendly and smiled continuously. No better thing to start your day.
Although I did not think any hotel employee had the same excellent kindness carried with him all the time, I had the feeling that I could ask a question to every employee. For example, I had a question about the restaurant (if it was included in my reservation). An employee asked my room number and was happy to assist me with it.
I enjoyed my weekend in this hotel, and I would gladly go back. Without any doubt.
Did you already stayed in this hotel?
*Disclaimer: This stay was not sponsored by Hampshire. With other words: I payed the full amount of costs to stay here. Every opinion are, like always, my own.
